Experience: Dr. Pant has over 30 years of working experience in various international agencies. He has worked in the Asian Development Bank, Manila in different capacities for more than 12 years since April 1996, and was mostly responsible in assisting the ADB
developing member countries improve their statistical system. He was the director of the Development Indicators and Policy Research Division in the Economics and Research Department for about two years before taking retirement in July 2008. Prior to joining ADB, Dr. Pant also worked in the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok as chief of the Statistical Information Services Section from April 1986 to March 1996. He also served as the Statistics Advisor to the national Planning Commission of the Government of Nepal in 1984 and 1985. His major areas of expertise include Statistics and National Accounts.
